Ruby Walsh is one of the most celebrated jump jockeys of all time, with an extraordinary record at the Cheltenham Festival that cemented his status as a legend of the sport. With dozens of Festival winners and multiple leading jockey titles, he became synonymous with success on racing’s biggest stage. Having witnessed the evolution of the sport first-hand, Ruby recognises how Cheltenham has grown beyond racing alone, noting, “Cheltenham is racing, but it’s an event now. A social occasion.
