Wool Textiles
-
Gentle Handling
Wool is a delicate natural fibre, avoid any rough usage that could cause unnecessary wear or damage to your blankets and cushion covers.
-
Regular Shaking and Airing
To maintain freshness and loftiness of the wool, we recommend regularly shaking out your blankets and cushion covers to remove dust and light debris and air them outside away from direct sunlight.
-
Spot Cleaning
For minor spills and stains, avoid rubbing as this can push the stain deeper into the fibres, instead gently blot the area with a clean, dry cloth and use a wool-specific detergent if necessary.
-
Professional Cleaning
For a thorough clean, we recommend taking your wool items to a professional dry cleaner who specialises in natural fibres.
-
Breathable Storage
When not in use, store your wool blankets and cushion covers in a cool, dry place using breathable cotton bags or pillowcases to protect them from dust and moths.
-
Moth Prevention
Consider adding natural repellents like cedar blocks or lavender patches to your storage area.
-
Seasonal Care
During warmer months, ensure your wool garments are stored properly to avoid damage. In colder months, bring them out to ensure they are aired our and refreshed before used.
Candle
-
First Burn Ritual
Allow the candle to burn until the entire surface has melted – this will prevent tunnelling and ensure an even burn out throughout the life candle. This should take about 2-4 hours.
-
Trim the Wick
For a clean, smoke-free burn, always trim the wick to approx. 5mm before each use – this keeps the flame controlled and prevents soot from gathering on the glass.
-
Burn Time
To preserve the fragrance and integrity of your candle, do not burn it for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the wax to cool and solidify before relighting, ensuring that the scent and burn remains consistent.
-
Positioning
Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, flammable objects and out of reach of pets and children.
-
Extinguishing
Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, flammable objects, and out of reach of pets and children.
-
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain its colour and scent.
-
The Final Burn
Burning the candle when only 1cm of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel can cause the glass to overheat and potentially crack. At this stage, it’s the perfect time to prepare your vessel for its next life as a stylish holder of decorative piece.
